Costume Care
Dresses with paneled skirts
This includes any dress that has a skirt that is intended to “stand out”. Dress needs to be stored with the skirt flat. Do NOT hang the dress. Hanging the dress will compromise the look of the dress, ending up with a floppy skirt that folds in on itself. We recommend that you purchase one of our Prime Dress Bags for storage and travel.
Keep Velcro hooks away from the embroidery. When the Velcro hooks come in contact with the embroidery, the embroidery will pull.
Wear a tight short sleeve shirt under the dress to keep it fresh. The sleeves and shirt will catch most of your perspiration. We highly recommend that you purchase underarm shields for the armpits of the dress. You can safety-pin them in on the extra seam allowance. Make sure you remove and wash them after every wear. Leaving them in the dress defeats the purpose. You can also purchase disposable underarm shields. They come with adhesive on them. Do not trust the adhesive. Pin the arm-shields in with a safety pin. You do not want them to fall out while your daughter is dancing!
Dresses with crystals can NOT be dry-cleaned.
We do not recommend dry-cleaning dresses with stiff skirts. It will compromise the stiffener and the dress skirt will look floppy.
Dress can be spot-cleaned with a cloth dampened with COLD water. Use a gentle detergent like Woolite to remove stains. Make sure you test on a small area inside the dress before you use it on the outside.

Full-Submersion Washing Option
This option should be reserved for when spot cleaning is insufficient and is not a process that you want to use frequently on any of our garments:
The dress can be washed in a bathtub in a few inches COLD COLD water with a gentle detergent like Woolite. The dress needs to be laid flat in the bathtub. Make sure you massage the detergent into the areas that smell and the dirty areas on the skirt. After washing and rinsing, drape the skirt over the side of the tub to let the skirt drip into the tub while still holding its shape. Then, lay if FLAT in towels, keeping the front panels flat, and blot the wetness from the dress (do not RUB as it will hurt the embroidery). Change out the towels if need be. Let the dress finish drying completely flat. Another option for drying is to wrap the dress in a single layer of sheets and drape the dress over a clothesline by the waist (putting a cloth under the fold area so that it does not get a line at the waist from the clothesline).

Garment Returns
Leotards, bloomers, crystals: any/all purchases are non-returnable and non-refundable.
These are custom garments made to your measurements and notes on the order form. As such, returns are not allowed and all sales are final. Our garments are checked for quality prior to delivery to our customers. We cannot accept returns unless the item has obvious flaws, or if an error has been made. Prime patterns the dress based on the measurements/photos received at the time of ordering. Minor alterations such as looseness/tightness through the trunk of body (bust, waist, hips), Dress Length within 1.5″, and sleeve length can be easily altered by a local seamstress. Prime Dress Designs accounts for a dancer’s growth by providing inches of extra material at the seams of the garment. If you find a flaw in craftsmanship, you must contact us within ONE day of receipt of the item to report the flaw. After we approve a return, you must mail the item back within four days of contacting us. The customer is responsible for any and all shipping and insurance costs.
