Costume Quality

We pride ourselves on producing top-quality, cutting-edge dance costumes. We use high quality fabrics to produce your school dresses. Please be aware that some of these fabrics are delicate and oftentimes fragile. Techniques are used which offer the best level of durability possible. Due to the nature of the fabrics used, wear, especially at the outside corners of the skirt panels, is a common occurrence. Embroidery may pull over time as dresses rub up against other dresses or dance shoes.

Each dress is guaranteed to be in perfect condition when placed in the shipping box or given to the customer. Please inspect the dress upon receipt and relay any concerns immediately. If the zipper breaks due to a faulty zipper, please contact us within one month of purchasing the dress and we will replace the zipper free of charge (shipping costs to be paid for by customer). As Prime has no control over the use and care of the costumes, all liability ends when the customer takes delivery.

Costume Care

Dresses with paneled skirts

This includes any dress that has a skirt that is intended to “stand out”. Dress needs to be stored with the skirt flat. Do NOT hang the dress. Hanging the dress will compromise the look of the dress, ending up with a floppy skirt that folds in on itself. We recommend that you purchase one of our Prime Dress Bags for storage and travel.

Keep Velcro hooks away from the embroidery. When the Velcro hooks come in contact with the embroidery, the embroidery will pull.

Wear a tight short sleeve shirt under the dress to keep it fresh. The sleeves and shirt will catch most of your perspiration. We highly recommend that you purchase underarm shields for the armpits of the dress. You can safety-pin them in on the extra seam allowance. Make sure you remove and wash them after every wear. Leaving them in the dress defeats the purpose. You can also purchase disposable underarm shields. They come with adhesive on them. Do not trust the adhesive. Pin the arm-shields in with a safety pin. You do not want them to fall out while your daughter is dancing!

Dresses with crystals can NOT be dry-cleaned.

We do not recommend dry-cleaning dresses with stiff skirts. It will compromise the stiffener and the dress skirt will look floppy.

Dress can be spot-cleaned with a cloth dampened with COLD water. Use a gentle detergent like Woolite to remove stains. Make sure you test on a small area inside the dress before you use it on the outside.
